Gallery of Belgrade Youth CenterVIVARIUM
is a collaborative exhibition of Újházi Adrienn and Nemanja Milenković, derived from the invitation of the jury of the Gallery of Belgrade Youth Center, which recognized the similarities in the artistic expression of the two authors, and on this occasion they are exhibiting together for the first time. In a way, the exhibition presents and examines the processes of individual practices by finding analogies that are not noticeable at first glance. The work of Újházi Adrienn enters the field of ecological art (and bio art). Her research approach implies the use of natural elements and materials in their (usually raw) original state, and minimal interventions lead to results in the form of installations, objects. Nemanja Milenković deals with the relationship of humans to animals in modern society and how collective and individual identity is formed towards it. Starting from personal involvement in animal rights activism, his research is based, among other things, on an analysis of the ways in which today's industries make their profits through inhumane treatment of animals. Both Újházi Adrienn's work and Nemanja Milenković's work are characterized by interdisciplinarity, and experimentation in the medium of drawing, painting, object, installation and performance, so the intention of the exhibition is to recreate and/or evoke the ambience of an art studio or a kind of art laboratory and show the processes of accumulation of different materials and access to content that are the subject of individual research of artists.
